First of all, I must profoundly thank the photographers for their hard work and mastery. I know I will miss naming some, I apologize in advance: Sidney Smith, David Farrell, David Craig, Matthew Schlenker, Steve Hodge, Abby Sands, Ray Black, Bleu Evans, Lee and Lynn Peterzell, Jimmy Stroud, Ken Wilson, Alan Black, Jeff Hanna, and Everett Watson. Unfortunately, I have to start with a sad story. For many Years, Sidney Smith, famous for his photography of the Allman Brothers and his bestselling books, was the studio photographer for Studio in the Country. Thousands of wonderful photographs Sidney took of the Studio and most of the artists who have recorded here, were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. This included Kansas, Stevie Wonder, Willie Nelson, Jimmy Buffett, Cinderella, Maze, Featuring Frankie Beverly, John D. Loudermilk, The Neville Brothers, Louis Prima, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Linda Ronstadt, Zebra, Professor Longhair, Pete Fountain, The Wild Magnolias, Peter Yarrow, Allen Toussaint, Le Roux, Doc and Merle Watson, Betty Davis, Frankie Miller, Wayne Newton, Willie Tee, Clifton Chenier, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, and John Hiatt. If there is anyone out there who may have any photographs of the Studio or any artists while they were here, (like Stevie at the Bogalusa High or Junior High School) I would appreciate beyond your wildest imagination, receiving a copy of any photograph. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I thank you so much in advance for any assistance I might be given to assemble additional photographs of the History of Studio in The Country. May God Bless You All. AMB, Bleu
